MOKICHI FOODS GARDEN, a beer pub in Chigasaki, Kanagawa, will launch Shonan Beer’s new Mango Sour Ale on August 19, 2026. In the Instagram post, the beer is introduced as a summer release developed by brewer Nakamura, who is from Okinawa, and built around apple mango for a fruit sour ale profile.

The beer is listed as a happoshu, with a fruit sour ale style and 5.0% ABV. Its ingredients are barley malt, mango juice, wheat malt, oats, and hops, with Citra and Mosaic used for hopping. The recipe aims for a soft mouthfeel from the wheat malt and oats, while the mango’s rich sweetness is balanced by the clean acidity of a sour ale. The post also notes tropical, citrus, and plum-like aromatics from the yeast character.

MOKICHI FOODS GARDEN itself is known for its large dining hall, created by reusing a prewar wooden barley-polishing factory. Guests can enjoy stone-oven Neapolitan pizza and a wide range of dishes designed to pair with Shonan Beer. With Chigasaki Station about a five-minute walk away, it is a fitting place to try a local seasonal release.
