Open Air Minatoyama Brewery (Hyogo Ward, Kobe, Hyogo) has released its West Coast IPA "stratosphere." It is a series whose recipe has been updated every year, and this time it finishes with a more classic West Coast character brought to the forefront.

The beer's backbone is built from Strata, Simcoe, Cascade, and Columbus. According to the posted information, adding Columbus reinforced a fresh pine-like aroma and a pleasant bitterness. The ABV is 6.5%. With the fruitiness and dankness from the hops layered over a crisp bitterness, it looks like a beer with a clearly defined profile for IPA fans.

Open Air Minatoyama Brewery is a brewery based inside NATURE STUDIO, a mixed-use complex developed on the former site of Minatoyama Elementary School. On its official website, it promotes beer making that lets you feel the richness of the seasons, and it offers beers that use hops and herbs suited to each season. Another hallmark of this brewery is that it continues to express a wide range, from standard beers to limited releases, in a setting rooted in the city of Kobe.

This stratosphere is suggested as a pairing with BBQ ribs, hard cheese, and seafood grill. It is a new release worth watching as a West Coast IPA that you can enjoy for its aroma while sipping it alongside a meal.
