A New IPA Has Been Tapped in Kyodo

At the beer pub "Magic Hour Kyodo" in Kyodo, Setagaya Ward, Tokyo, RIKRI BREWING's "Look What Happened" has been newly tapped. In its Instagram post, the style is introduced as Pacific Northwest Style IPA, alongside comments from the brewer.

The beer is said to have been designed based on experience gained during a beer trip to the American West Coast. Its aromatic core is piney, with bright fruit notes like amanatsu, nectarine, and pink grapefruit layered on top. Vienna malt and flaked wheat are also used to support juiciness, resulting in a modern IPA profile that keeps bitterness and sweetness in check.

The post also references Breakside and GRAINS OF WRATH as points of comparison, suggesting a brewing approach aimed at balancing fruit character and pine. Including the name "Look What Happened," which comes from a song title, the piece makes the brewery's design intent easy to see.
