At CRAFT BEER BAR IBREW Ginza in Yaesu, Tokyo, a Shiokaze Blue Lab Tap Takeover has been announced. The event will run for two days, on 3/28 (Sat.) and 3/29 (Sun.), and is being presented as the long-awaited realization of a promise made in 2020 between buyer Ryo and Shiokaze Blue Lab head brewer Chris.

The highlight this time is a planned 25-tap-plus lineup, the most in Shiokaze Blue Lab history. True to the spirit of a TTO, where taps are swapped out all at once, the event puts the fun of side-by-side comparisons front and center, making full use of the strengths of IBREW Ginza, which regularly handles a wide range of kegs.

Also drawing attention is the early release of the collaboration beer "Ginza Kölsch / Ginza Kölsch". This beer is an homage to Shiokaze Blue Lab's staple "Keiyo Kölsch / Keiyo Kölsch". Ryo reportedly helped create the recipe with Chris and also took part in the brewing. The event also suggests a side-by-side tasting of Keiyo Kölsch and Ginza Kölsch, offering the pleasure of comparing two beers from the same lineage.

Chris, brewer Takashi, and sales rep Riki are also scheduled to visit on the day (schedule to be announced later). Food will be handled by Chef Anesaki, who is preparing special American-style dishes using ingredients from the United States, Chris's roots, and Chiba, where Shiokaze Blue Lab is based.

IBREW Ginza is a beer pub that lets guests enjoy a high turnover of taps. At a TTO like this, it makes sense to make the beer the star while taking time to savor it together with the food pairings. The lineup details are expected soon, so stay tuned for more updates.
