A Father’s Day release from Kagiya Brewery

Kagiya Brewery, a brewpub in Minamikase, Saiwai-ku, Kawasaki, has presented a new beer called Lemon It Be for Father’s Day. The brewery is also offering it as part of a Father’s Day limited set through its online shop, making it a practical gift option as well as a seasonal release.

Lemon-forward, but still clearly beer

Lemon It Be is a fruit pale ale built around the fresh acidity of lemon juice and the citrus aroma associated with Cascade and Centennial hops. The brewery describes it as a beer with restrained sweetness, a light body, and a dry finish, aiming for a profile that feels refreshing without becoming too soft or dessert-like.

Brewing details

The recipe uses Tettnanger and First Gold in first wort hopping, creating a gentle, tea-like bitterness underneath the brighter citrus notes. Lemon juice is added at the finish to connect the hop-derived citrus character with the fruit character in a natural way.
