Draft lineup for June 29

Umbrella, a basement beer pub in Osaka’s Umeda district, opens at 6 p.m. on Monday, June 29. The venue’s latest tap list mixes Japanese craft beers with familiar classics, giving drinkers a range that works for both comparison tasting and an easy first pint.

The craft side starts with Kasumi from Shiga Kogen Beer, a Session Hazy IPA. It is joined by Setouchi Lemon Pilsner from Nagahama Roman Beer and Red Tea Bitter from Minoh Beer, creating a lineup with clearly different flavor profiles.

Craft meets classics

The remaining taps are Draught Guinness from Ireland and Kirin Lager from Kirin Brewery. That balance is notable: instead of leaning only toward hop-forward craft beers, the pub also keeps a stout and a clean lager on hand, so guests can move from aromatic and citrusy to roasty or crisp depending on the mood.

Beer tickets available

Umbrella is also selling beer tickets, good for six smallest servings of craft beer. Guinness pint pours are accepted as well. The ticket costs 5,800 yen and is valid for six months from the date of purchase, while supplies last. It is a practical option for anyone who wants to sample a few different beers across one visit.

Upcoming closure

The pub is closed on Sunday, July 5. It will also be closed on Saturday, July 11 and Sunday, July 12 for umbrella RiB’s 10th anniversary party. If you are planning a stop in Umeda for Guinness and craft beer, it is worth checking the schedule before heading out.
