KARAKURI taps Oni Densetsu Beer’s Nishi Oni Higashi Oni IPA
KARAKURI -Craft Beer & Oden & Sake- in Kanda has opened Nishi Oni Higashi Oni IPA from Oni Densetsu Beer. The beer is presented as an 8th-anniversary collaboration with Osaka pub Beer Parlor POGO.
KARAKURI -Craft Beer & Oden & Sake- is a basement beer pub near Kanda Station in Tokyo. The venue serves craft beer, sake, and natural wine, with oden-centered creative dishes, and also operates a bottle shop for takeaway bottles and cans.
In its June 11 post, the bar announced the third beer in its anniversary-month lineup: `Nishi Oni Higashi Oni IPA / Oni Densetsu Beer (Hokkaido)`. The beer is described as an 8th-anniversary collaboration with Beer Parlor POGO, a popular Osaka venue also connected to Kobe Beer Jamboree, and was brewed at Oni Densetsu Beer.
According to the caption, the beer is a clear, light IPA with a crisp finish, citrus and tropical aromatics, and a firm, well-balanced bitterness. It reads as a beer designed for early summer, with enough lift and brightness to stay easy to drink while still giving the bitterness IPA drinkers want.
The post also references `Shishigami Oni IPA`, a previous KBJ collaboration beer in the same lineage, showing that this release continues a broader anniversary collaboration series. KARAKURI also announced an `8th Anniversary Party` for June 20 and 21, so the taproom should stay lively through the month. It is the kind of place where beer can be paired naturally with oden in a relaxed basement setting, one pint at a time.
