On April 3, the brewpub u.b.p_brewery taproom in Urawa Ward, Saitama City announced in a post that it would hold a Tap Takeover at IBREW Akihabara for two days starting the next day, April 4. The post said they had already delivered all the beers in preparation, showing that everything was ready for the event.

The highlight is the collaboration IPA OWN GOAL IPA, brewed together with IBREW staff. In addition to its soccer-inspired name, the post also includes the line “with bitter feelings in our hearts,” making it a beer that should spark conversation about its background.

Today's beer lineup

- Kickoff Pils
- 彩白~IROHA~
- URAWA CITY ALE
- YUZU RISING
- Step Over
- Hazy Celebration
- La bomba
- OWN GOAL IPA

The announcement also mentioned canned beers currently sold at U.B.P BREWERY, including THE HOME&AWAY CS GOSE, Bombonera, Drop Kick, Hattrick Hero, and LaLa Kölsch. At the Tap Takeover, visitors can enjoy, all at once, a selection of labels long loved in Urawa on the taps in Akihabara.

Food options include tortilla dogs, anchovy garlic pizza, Margherita pizza, as well as sausages, pate, and freshly shaved Gouda cheese, all designed to pair well with beer. True to its nature as a brewpub attached to a brewery, the venue has a straightforward, unfussy atmosphere. Self-service water and no cover charge also make it a good place to settle in and compare beers at leisure.

A cask shipped from the brewery in Urawa and a glass poured at the venue in Akihabara: this is a chance to experience them together. Over the two days of the event, it will be worth taking a slow, careful look at the U.B.P BREWERY lineup.
