GROUNDTAP BREWERY in Saijo, Ehime, announced its new light lager "OSANBAI" on Instagram. This 3.5% beer makes use of rice, naked barley, and spring water from Saijo, and will be served at PREP ROOM from April 16 and at TAP ROOM from April 17.
New Release: Light Lager "OSANBAI"
The release information GROUNDTAP BREWERY announced was OSANBAI. The style is Rice Lager, and the ABV is 3.5%. The special ingredients listed are rice / naked barley, and the design is notable for directly making use of familiar ingredients and spring water.
In the post, the brewery says that a careful mashing process gives the beer a simple, light character that goes down smoothly while also delivering the rounded umami that comes from the grains. Rather than a beer that pushes with flashy aroma, this is a lager meant to be enjoyed slowly alongside food. The description of it as a versatile pint that pairs well with a wide range of everyday Japanese dishes also clearly shows the direction of its flavor.
GROUNDTAP BREWERY is a brewery in Saijo City, Ehime Prefecture. In a place known for its excellent water, this recipe using local rice and naked barley is a beer that seems to put the character of the region directly into the glass. The label design was handled by studio yotte.
