Oita-based Monkey Mountain will take part in the TAKENISHI BEER TRIANGLE on September 18, 2026, in the west entrance area of Galleria Takenishi Shopping Street. The event will feature the first pour of TAKENISHI CRAFT, an Oita craft beer academy, and a beer stand showcasing local breweries.

Monkey Mountain, based in Oita City, will participate in the TAKENISHI BEER TRIANGLE on Friday, September 18, 2026. The event will be held in the west entrance area of Galleria Takenishi Shopping Street in Chuo-machi, an area commonly known as Takenishi.
A new original craft beer, TAKENISHI CRAFT, will make its first appearance on tap during the event. The beer was brewed to commemorate the opening of Takenishi Station, a food and beverage studio on the second floor of the wazawaza building, and DesArtGallery, an art gallery featuring artists with disabilities.
The TAKENISHI BEER STAND will operate from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Monkey Mountain will be joined by Orang Craft Brewery from Saiki, offering visitors a chance to enjoy beers from breweries in Oita Prefecture. Food and drink vendors, including a doughnut shop and a coffee stand, are also scheduled to take part.
From 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., the Oita Craft Beer Academy will be held at “eat” on the second floor of the wazawaza building. Toshihiro Kono of Orang Craft Brewery will lead a session covering beer styles, characteristics, and brewing methods, followed by a tasting of Oita craft beers across several styles. The program includes a tasting of TAKENISHI CRAFT and snacks. Admission is ¥3,000, tax included, with space for 20 participants. Advance registration is required through the Oita Craft Beer Guide profile.
Monkey Mountain was founded in Funaimachi, Oita City, in February 2019 by Darren, a brewer with 20 years of experience in the American Northwest. From its compact 15-tsubo brewery, the team produces aromatic craft beer while making use of Oita’s water and its rich local food culture. TAKENISHI BEER TRIANGLE brings that brewing philosophy into a neighborhood event connecting local beer, food, and community spaces.
