Open Air Minatoyama Brewery Announces "paper moon" in Collaboration with Crescent Coffee
Open Air Minatoyama Brewery has unveiled its collaboration beer with Crescent Coffee in Nagata Ward, Kobe: "paper moon." The style is a golden stout, presented as a beer that layers coffee-derived roasty character and sweet aroma over a body with an approachable color and easy drinkability.
Open Air Minatoyama Brewery announced its new collaboration beer, "paper moon," in an Instagram post.
According to the post, the concept for this release is a design that is not bound by the fixed idea that "stout means black." The recipe aims for a gap between appearance and flavor, and the specs are clearly listed as style: golden stout, ABV 5.5% / IBU 15, and hops: chinook. The collaboration partner is Crescent Coffee (@crescentcoffeejapan) in Nagata Ward, Kobe, which brings out roasty character and a sweet aroma from carefully selected, roasted coffee beans.
For food pairings, the brewery suggests chocolate desserts, tiramisu, and vanilla ice cream. Centered on toastiness and sweetness, the combination is also suited to after-dinner drinking.
On the sales side, the post announces that kegs and cans are now available through the official Open Air online shop and the business-to-business shop.
Open Air Minatoyama Brewery is a brewery based in Hyogo and Kobe, with its facility located in NATURE STUDIO, a complex built on the former site of Minatoyama Elementary School. The brewery has a track record of recipe development that incorporates seasonality and regional character, as well as active collaborations with other industries, and this coffee collaboration can be seen as a release in line with that context.
