Streetlight Brewing taps new release "Dark Cherry San," nationwide shipments begin March 23
At Streetlight Brewing's taproom in Sapporo, the new sour ale "Dark Cherry San" has been released. With an ABV of 4.5%, it is a beer that emphasizes the vivid color and acidity derived from dark cherries. Nationwide shipments also begin on March 23.
Streetlight Brewing (1-1 Kita 10-jo Nishi 19-chome, Chuo-ku, Sapporo) shared new release information on Instagram and announced the start of taproom service for "Dark Cherry San". The style is Sour Ale Style w/ Dark Cherry, and the ABV is 4.5%.
The post also notes that the brewery has continuously brewed "sour" beers at a frequency second only to IPA. Within that series context, Dark Cherry San is introduced as a new release added for the first time in about a year. It uses a generous amount of dark cherry puree and is said to feature a deep crimson color, a sharp acidity, and a fruity drinking experience.
Related labels currently on sale, "Blur The Lines", as well as "Mango San" and "Blackberry San", which were released together in May 2023, are also mentioned, giving a clear sense of Streetlight Brewing's sour lineup. The article also introduced the presence of the "san (acid)" series with names such as "Cherry San" and "Ninjin San."
Taproom details are also provided: open on weekdays from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on weekends and holidays from noon to 8 p.m. (last order is 15 minutes before closing). The taproom also allows outside food, offers canned beer for takeout, and welcomes children and pets. For those in Sapporo who want to compare sour ales, this is a good time to check where the series stands.
