Onomichi Brewery’s Instagram post framed the update as the first installment of the Iwajima Tomato Festival. The post highlighted BISTRO SIMA-tei’s tomato farci, a dish made with whole Iwajima tomatoes, and described it as a filling, flavorful plate. It also thanked the restaurant for strongly recommending Onomichi Brewery’s Iwajima Tomato Weizen.

The brewery is a brewpub at 1-2-24 Kubo in Onomichi, built inside a renovated storehouse dating back to 1894. Visitors can drink fresh beer on site. The current lineup includes Onomichi Ale, Shimanami Golden Ale, Onomichi IPA, and the seasonal Iwajima Tomato Weizen. That tomato wheat beer is made with tomatoes from Mishans Farm & Midori Farm and Sei-bee Farm on Iwajima Island.

Iwajima Tomato Weizen is a wheat beer with bright tomato-driven acidity and a light, easygoing profile that fits the warmer season well. The post neatly shows how the brewery connects local ingredients, local food, and local beer within the same neighborhood drinking culture.
