The beer pub "umbrella," located in the basement in Sonezaki, Osaka, will begin service at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7. In this post, the shop is introducing five draft beers for the day. The lineup ranges from hop-forward IPAs to a tart sour, creamy Draught Guinness, and an easy-drinking lager, offering a wide variety.

Today’s Draft Beers

- Akkeshi Coast IPA / Yuitriere (Hokkaido) West Coast IPA
- Awaawa Sour / Kamigata Beer (Osaka) Sour Ale
- Blooming IPA / Minoh Beer (Osaka) Belgian IPA
- Draught Guinness (Ireland)
- Kirin Lager / Kirin Brewery (JP) Lager

Built around the bitterness and aroma of IPAs, the lineup also lets you compare the lightness of a sour, the nuance of a Belgian IPA, and the finely textured foam of Draught Guinness all in one place. Since Kirin Lager is also on tap, it works well for people who want to start with something lighter.

The shop has a tucked-away, hideaway feel in a basement space near the O-hatsu Tenjin entrance, with a total of 18 seats. Its official site describes it as a place with three types of draft craft beer, plus more than 30 beers overall, and its underground setting gives it the relaxed pace of a true basement beer pub. On top of that, special beer vouchers are now on sale. Each voucher covers six servings at the smallest size for craft beers, and at Underground Umbrella they can also be used for Guinness pints. If you are looking for a place in Osaka to stop in for what is on tap, this is one to remember.
