Booth Overview

Based in Tokamachi City, Niigata Prefecture, the microbrewery Jokun Beer Lab / Joukun Sake Brewery Research Institute, which operates in the Tokamachi and Yuzawa areas of Niigata Prefecture, will participate in “CRAFT BEER HOUSE takasaki '26 Spring.” The venue is the Joshi Park square in front of Takasaki City Hall, and the event will be held on May 23 and 24. A distinctive brewery from Tokamachi will join this craft beer event set in a grassy venue.

What Kind of Beer Can You Drink?

The post introduces the brewery as a microbrewery that makes everything from “authentic American-style IPAs” to styles that use Niigata ingredients such as sake lees. This time’s featured item is the special IPA “Jokun x CBH26 IPA,” which bears the event name. It is a limited release brewed for CBH26 and presented as a one-of-a-kind beer that can only be tasted at the venue.

About the Brewery

Joukun Sake Brewery Research Institute is a brewpub that produces and sells craft beer and smoked foods, and also operates a taproom. It is located at 5-55-8 Honcho, Tokamachi City, and its everyday appeal is that visitors can enjoy its own beer paired with smoked dishes. At the Takasaki event, another point of interest will be how the character of its IPA, an extension of that brewery concept, is received at the venue.

Key Point

Beyond the special IPA itself, what makes this booth interesting is the design philosophy that feels very Jokun: how Niigata ingredients and a sense of place are woven into an IPA-centered lineup. It is a chance to enjoy both the reliability of a brewpub and the special feel of an event-only beer.
