A Tap Takeover by Shiokaze Brewlab has been announced at CRAFT BEER BAR IBREW Ginza, the beer pub in Yaesu, Tokyo.

The core of this event is the connection between Ryo, who handles ordering for the IBREW side, and Chris, the head brewer at Shiokaze Brewlab. A promise the two made back in 2020 to do a TTO someday is finally coming to life over these two days. The post also mentions that Chris, brewer Takashi, and sales staff member Riki are expected to visit, so it looks set to be an event where you can enjoy the brewery's atmosphere as well.

The beer highlights are clear: in addition to a large-scale lineup of over 25 taps, the collaboration beer "Ginza Kölsch" will be released early. It is also described as being designed in homage to Shiokaze Brewlab's regular "Keiyo Kölsch," so a side-by-side tasting is highly recommended. There is also context that Ryo was involved in recipe development and brewing, making this more than just a limited release; it is something to watch as a "beer co-created together."

Food will be handled by Chef Anezaki, with special menu items planned that draw on Chris's roots in the United States while incorporating ingredients from Chiba, home to Shiokaze's base. With tap count, direct contact with the brewers, and food pairings all lined up in the Ginza area, this is a two-day event worth adding to a weekend beer crawl.
