Touchdown’s Seasonal "Shirakaba Beet Nama" Tapped at Beer O'clock in Chiba
Beer O'clock, a beer pub in Chiba’s Fujimi district, has tapped Touchdown’s seasonal pilsner, Shirakaba Beet Nama. Brewed with birch sap water, it pairs a clean citrus aroma with a solid malt profile.
At Beer O'clock in Chuo Ward, Chiba, the new tap is Touchdown’s “Shirakaba Beet Nama.” Listed as a pilsner with birch sap at 5.0% ABV, it uses birch sap collected only for a short season in early spring as part of the brewing water.
The beer is hopped with German Citra and Tango, bringing a gentle citrus aroma. The pub describes it as crisp and highly drinkable, while still carrying the rich malt character that makes it feel like a proper pilsner. That balance makes it an easy first pour, but also a good match for food.
Beer O'clock is currently operating all day from lunch through the evening, with hours set from 12:00 to 22:30 on Mon/Tue/Thu, 12:00 to 23:30 on Fri/Sat, and 12:00 to 22:00 on Sun/holidays. Its lunch service also features a weekly pasta special, including salmon and stick broccoli in a salted lemon cream sauce. It is the kind of beer pub where you can follow the tap list while also settling in for a proper meal.
