Shiga Kogen Beer KASUMI arrives as a guest beer at Eflush in Matsue
Dining Bar Eflush in Teramachi, Matsue, introduced KASUMI from Tamamura Honten’s Shiga Kogen Beer as a guest beer. The Hazy Session IPA is described as bright, juicy, citrus-led, and gently bitter, making it a sessionable hazy for hop-forward drinkers.
Dining Bar Eflush in Teramachi, Matsue, is a beer pub known for serving craft beer across as many as 16 taps, alongside local sake and other spirits such as whisky, gin, and rum. It is the kind of place where beer sits within a wider drinks lineup rather than as a one-note specialty spot.
In a July 17 post, the bar introduced KASUMI from Tamamura Honten’s Shiga Kogen Beer as a guest beer. The beer is listed as a Hazy Session IPA, and the brewery says it returns every year as a much-loved favorite. Rather than changing the recipe dramatically, this release was adjusted through the brewing process.
The brewery description points to a grist made only from British Golden Promise and Maris Otter malts, with no oats or wheat added. The flavor profile is described as bright citrus leaning toward grapefruit and hassaku, layered with a white-peach, tropical impression. It pours a hazy blond and keeps sweetness in check, while staying juicy with restrained bitterness and a strong hop aroma. In other words, this is a sessionable hazy IPA that favors aroma and drinkability over dessert-like softness.
That makes KASUMI a strong fit for Eflush’s relaxed, wide-ranging bar setting in central Matsue.
