Hinomoto Brewing & Beer Stand announces 10 taps, including 'Seiten Raimei #2', on 4/30
Bunkyo Ward's Honkomagome-based Hinomoto Brewing & Beer Stand published its tap list for a 5 p.m. opening on April 30. Ten house-brewed beers, including the new West Coast IPA 'Seiten Raimei #2', are on tap, and Golden Week event plans are also being announced.
4/30 Tap Lineup
Hinomoto Brewing & Beer Stand announced its tap list for 4/30 (Thu) 17:00-23:00. The interior is a brewpub centered on counter seating and standing room, and it normally serves 10 house-brewed beers on tap.
The highlight of the day is the photo-featured 'Seiten Raimei #2'. It's a West Coast IPA / 7.5% / IBU 73.4, with aromas of orange citrus, pineapple, and yellow peach, plus a sharp bitterness reminiscent of green grass and resin. While it is dry and easy to drink, the alcohol content is firmly high, and true to its name, it finishes with a thunderclap-like sharp edge.
The taps also include the following 10 beers.
- Kohatu Pale Ale / NZ Pale Ale / 5.5%
- Pei-pei-pei / Kveik Pale Ale (Norwegian Farmhouse Ale) / 5.5%
- Seiten Raimei #2 / West Coast IPA / 7.5%
- Ryusoso / Italian Pilsner / 5.5%
- Yunosu Saison / Yuzu Sour Saison / 6%
- Black IPA a.k.a. Black Sheep Ale / Black IPA / 7% (collaboration with Sanriku Beer)
- Komagome Brown / Brown Saison / 6%
- Komagome Best Bitter / English Best Bitter / 4.5%
- Belgian Hazy IPA a.k.a. White Sheep Ale / Belgian Hazy IPA / 6.5% (collaboration with Sanriku Beer)
- Kurotobi #4 / Belgian Stout / 7%
A lineup focused on Japanese craft beer, with a range that runs from easy-drinking beers to dark, high-ABV beers, is what makes this place feel like itself. The food is centered on dagashi and light snacks, so it's a good spot for days when you want the beer to be the star and savor it slowly.
The post also notes Golden Week event appearances and pop-up plans. On 4/29 (Wed, holiday) and 4/30 (Thu), they will be at the Nezu Shrine azalea festival, and in May they have more projects lined up, including 'seared fried fish cake,' 'Osaka doteyaki,' 'Kamakura SAMURAI sausage,' and a 'potato chip dog.' In addition to regular service, this is a brewpub worth following for its seasonal moves as well.
