Here comes a new collaboration beer from Cycad Brewing in Nishi-Ikebukuro. In a March 20 post announcing "Cycad Mart," the brewery revealed the release of Onisotetsu, a beer brewed together with Oni Densetsu (@onidensetsu_yasuhiko_shibata).

This time, the style is Double IPA, with an alcohol content of 9.0%. The post explains that the dry hop bill uses Mosaic / Strata / Simcoe, designed to bring out tropical, juicy, and slightly sweet aromas. The aim is a beer that lets you keep drinking it with a bright hop character, while staying balanced enough not to feel too heavy.

Another point of note is that, for Cycad, this is a relatively rare Double IPA in the 9% range. It is a filling beer aimed at people who want to fully enjoy the presence of hops. The post also says that people who usually drink Oni Densetsu beers may notice shared character traits, so a collaboration-specific personality is something to look forward to.

Sales are available as a six-can set on Cycad's EC site, and it can also be purchased in store. Cycad Brewing, the venue, is a brewpub located at Nishi-Ikebukuro Mart, 4-19-14 Nishi-Ikebukuro, Toshima-ku, Tokyo. It is an easy-to-use setup where you can enjoy taps and food on site while also picking up beer to take home. If you want to try a solidly hoppy new release in the Ikebukuro area on the weekend, this is one to check out.
