Sakazuki Brewing announced on Instagram that it had handled production of an original craft beer timed to the reopening of Sanseido Bookstore Kanda Jimbocho Main Store. The beer is called "FUKAYOMI". Its concept is described as a "Jimbocho beer to enjoy a changing aftertaste."

According to the post, FUKAYOMI is a brown-colored ale built from seven kinds of malt, including smoked malt, peat malt, caramel malt, and light-roast malt. In addition to a slightly higher alcohol design, American oak chips are used in the finish, with the aim of bringing out shifting aromas and flavors such as peat, smoke, caramel, vanilla, and dried fruit as the beer is enjoyed and its temperature changes.

The post also said that this beer is not sold at Sakazuki Brewing's own shop, and is available only at Sanseido Bookstore Kanda Jimbocho Main Store. Released to coincide with the bookstore's reopening, it stands out for a design that connects the reading experience with craft beer.

Sakazuki Brewing is a Tokyo-based brewery that continues to operate Brewing, Taproom, and Lab. Alongside daily tap offerings, it proposes new drinking occasions through external collaborations like this one. This FUKAYOMI can be seen as a good example of designing craft beer with the context of "where and with what you enjoy it" in mind.
