In an Instagram post from the beer pub "Saiougauma" in Kobe's Sannomiya, the collaboration DIPA "BRAIN BREAK" by CHORYO Craft Beer and Beer Brain Brewery appears. The 8.5% ABV, 50 IBU beer is presented as balancing hop heft with drinkability.
BRAIN BREAK Arrives
On the Instagram account of the beer pub "Saiougauma" in Kobe's Sannomiya, the collaboration beer "BRAIN BREAK" by CHORYO Craft Beer (Nara) and Beer Brain Brewery (Chiba) is being introduced. The style is Double IPA, with an alcohol content of 8.5% and an IBU of 50. It is positioned as the first and last special collaboration realized before Beer Brain Brewery ends its brewing business in December.
According to the post, this beer is designed with what could be called a "cost-no-object" amount of hops. In addition, by adding rice, it keeps the intense hop character reminiscent of pineapple and guava while also making it easy to keep drinking. The name "BRAIN BREAK" also carries the wish that Beer Brain Brewery, which has kept running nonstop, can take a breather, so it is a release that is intriguing not only for its flavor but also for the story behind it.
Enjoying a Drink in Sannomiya
Saiougauma is a beer pub that highlights craft beers carefully selected by the owner. Its profile describes it as "the place to drink Hoegaarden at its absolute best," and it also offers wine as well as craft beer. It is easy to drop in alone, and with table seating available, it works well both for a quick drink at the counter and for a more relaxed visit.
It is located at "north of the Sannomiya elevated tracks, five shops east of Tommy's bakery in Ninomiy." Because it is close to the station and easy to access, it is appealing as a stop after work or as the first bar in a night of bar-hopping. On days when a collaboration DIPA with this much background is on the menu, the shop's character comes through even more clearly. Beer lovers will likely want to savor not only the liquid's specs, but also the relationships between the breweries behind it.
