Today’s taps at VANAVASA
VANAVASA, a craft beer pub near Kamakura Station in Onari, has refreshed its tap list with a broad range of styles. Eight beers are listed across ten positions, offering options from crisp and sessionable pours to rich, dark ales.
No. 1 is Amber Lager, a 5.5% dry-hopped amber lager that combines malt depth with additional hop aroma. Little Thing follows at 4.5%, described as a dry-hopped session ale with a lighter body and approachable strength.
The IPA selection covers several distinct directions. Saburo Hazy is a 7% hazy IPA, while Yoiyo IPA is a 7.5% black IPA with a darker, roast-influenced profile. Mashup IPA Ekuanot is a 6.5% Belgian IPA, adding Belgian character to the hop-forward style. Together, the three beers provide a useful comparison of hazy, dark, and Belgian-leaning IPA approaches.
For something more unusual, Pineapple Gose is a 5% gose-style beer brewed with pineapple. Its fruit character is paired with the tart and lightly salty qualities associated with the style. Best bitter, at 4.5%, offers a more traditional English option, centered on balanced malt flavor and restrained bitterness. The list closes with Kurozuru #4, a 7% Belgian stout suited to drinkers looking for a fuller, darker pour.
VANAVASA is also known for its bottle-shop selection, growler fills, and casual standing-bar atmosphere. Visitors can stop in during a walk around Kamakura, compare different styles by the half pour, and ask the staff about the beers currently flowing. Tap availability may change, so checking the list at the venue is recommended.
