Open Air Minatoyama Brewery Releases Cold IPA "new worlds" in Cans and Kegs
Open Air Minatoyama Brewery in Kobe's Hyogo Ward has released its Cold IPA "new worlds." Built around a dry, clear finish layered with hop aroma, the beer is now available in kegs and cans through the brewery's online shop and its shop for business accounts.
A new release, "new worlds," has arrived from Open Air Minatoyama Brewery, based at NATURE STUDIO, a multi-purpose facility built on the former site of Minatoyama Elementary School in Kobe's Hyogo Ward. This brewery, born from the renovation of the school's lunchroom, advocates beer-making that follows the changing seasons, and this latest release strongly reflects that direction.

The style is Cold IPA, with an alcohol content of 6.5% and an IBU of 44. Ekuanot and Strata hops are used, giving the beer a firm hop character over a dry body while keeping the finish crisp and clean. The bitterness is neatly balanced, making it an easy fit for the hotter months ahead.
For this batch, malt that had been milled with help from participants in the brewery's Golden Week "open table" event was used. The fact that visitors were involved in the brewing process also adds an interesting layer to the beer's background. It is an episode that reflects Open Air's close relationship between brewery and drinker, and its community-minded atmosphere.
Suggested food pairings include fish and chips, salt-grilled chicken, and citrus-based salads. With hop aroma and a refreshing finish at its core, it pairs broadly with fried foods, salty dishes, and plates that carry citrus notes.
"new worlds" is now available in both kegs and cans through the official Open Air online shop and the shop for business accounts. This is a Cold IPA from Kobe that deserves attention as a light-footed, clear, and crisp offering.
