Makigoya Announces 'Vineyards Festa2026'

The restaurant Makigoya, located inside Cave d'Occi Winery in Niigata City's Nishikan Ward, has opened reservations for 'Vineyards Festa2026'. The event will be held on Sunday, May 24, 2026, from 10:00 to 16:00. Reservations opened on Wednesday, April 1, 2026.

Timed to match the season when the vineyards turn a fresh green in May and June and the roses are at their best in full bloom, the event will feature food and drink booths in the plaza, creating a setup where visitors can enjoy wine under the open sky. Non-alcoholic sparkling drinks and cocktails will also be available, making it easy for people who do not drink wine to take part.

Reservation Seat Details

The post introduces two seat types.

- Special vineyard seat / with shuttle bus: 6,000 yen per person
- Special vineyard seat: 5,500 yen per person

Both are limited in number, and the tickets can be exchanged for food and drinks. The special vineyard seats also include a winery tour, letting guests experience not just the drinks, but also the atmosphere of the vineyards and the winemaking. Reservations are accepted through the online shop.

A Setting Typical of Makigoya

Makigoya is a restaurant operating on the grounds of Cave d'Occi Winery, known for its wood-fired cooking and house-brewed beer. Its official site also mentions beer making that draws on winemaking techniques and experience, and it has released everything from standard pale ale to sour ale, beer made with Albariño grape skins, and barrel-aged beer. Even though this is an announcement for a wine event, what stands out for beer lovers is that this brewing sensibility runs through the entire venue.

It is an event that extends the wine festival concept, but its appeal is that vineyard scenery, food, drinks, and the brewing atmosphere all come together in one venue. Because it is a place like Makigoya that is designed to let people enjoy food and alcohol as one experience, it is easy to picture spending a day at the winery in May.
