At the brewpub Craft Beer Jokun in Tokamachi, Niigata, Snow-Carrot Saison is still being sold after its collaboration with JA Uonuma. In an Instagram post titled "Carrot Saison Interview Day," the brewery said media members visited the Tokamachi taproom, and farmer Takahashi Akio, who supplied the carrots, also came by to taste the beer drawn from the tap.

The beer is a saison brewed with snow-carrot "Christine." According to the official product information, it uses Cascade, Amarillo, and Nugget hops, plus coriander seed. The aroma leans citrusy, the bitterness stays gentle, and saison yeast adds a peppery layer over a dry, light finish. ABV is 5%.

As a brewpub, Jokun is a place where house beer can be enjoyed on site, so the appeal goes beyond the recipe itself. Here, a local ingredient from a heavy-snow region becomes a glass of beer with a clear regional story attached.
