The beer pub Want a Beer in Utsunomiya, Tochigi, has released the tap list for its May 30 service from 12:00 to 23:00. Alongside Ushitora Brewery, Be easy Brewing, and Karuizawa Q, the lineup also includes two original beers for the shop's 5th anniversary, with a substantial food menu as well.
The beer pub Want a Beer in Motoimaizumi, Utsunomiya, Tochigi, announced on Instagram what it will be serving on May 30, 12:00-23:00 (L.O. 22:00). This tap list features distinctive beers from breweries inside and outside the prefecture, along with original beers commemorating the shop's 5th anniversary.
All six beers are planned for service. The first is "Otona no Can Beer, Keg Ver." / Ushitora Brewery. It is an American IPA at ABV 6.5%, and the post introduces it as a 'golden West Coast style IPA.' It is low on malt character and marked by a crisp finish that goes down smoothly.
The second is "Tohoku 6 Hop" / Be easy Brewing. It is a Hazy IPA brewed with plenty of NZ hops, at ABV 6.0%. It is finished to be fruity and juicy with a soft mouthfeel, making it an easy-drinking beer.
The third is "Along the Way" / Karuizawa Q. It is an Irish Red at ABV 5.0%. Gentle biscuit-like malt aroma is layered with caramel and subtle dried-fruit notes. It is not too heavy, making it an easy choice when you want to change pace.
There are two anniversary originals from the shop. "Fresh!!!" / Romantic Village x Want a Beer is a Want a Beer 5th anniversary original Fruits Sour Ale. It reportedly hand-squeezes five kinds of citrus totaling 60 kg and uses all of the juice without waste. The recipe is built around fresh acidity and aroma.
The other anniversary beer, "SPECIALS" / Romantic Village x Want a Beer, is a Belgian White made with the peels of five citrus fruits: amanatsu, kiyomi orange, hassaku, mandarin orange, and lemon. Coriander spice adds another layer, balancing citrus brightness with easy drinkability.
The sixth beer is "Tomarigi" / Karuizawa Q. It is a Kolsch inspired by the style enjoyed in Cologne, Germany, at ABV 5.0%. Its appeal is a light drinkability with gentle aromas reminiscent of herbs and lemon.
The food lineup is also easy to pair with beer. Dishes centered on seafood and vegetables include pork shoulder braised in sparkling wine, cold Genovese pasta, true pufferfish fritters, and carpaccio of hirame, isaki, and bonito. It is a format where beer is the star while you can still fully enjoy the meal.
Reservations are accepted via LINE from the profile page, and the notice also says Instagram DMs may take time to get a reply. If you want to compare draft beers in Utsunomiya, this is one place worth checking out.
