WhaleBrewing, based in Yobuko, Karatsu City, Saga, will set up a kitchen car at the Gofuku no Enmusubi-ichi market held on Sunday, July 5. In its Instagram post, the brewery said it will also sell bottled beer, giving customers a way to enjoy its beers at home as well.
The brewery is located in the port town of Yobuko and was created by renovating an 80-year-old traditional house into a brewhouse. WhaleBrewing says its goal is to bring energy back to the area, echoing Yobuko's past as a whaling hub and its long local history. The brewery's message, "raise the whale flag here again," reflects that community-focused vision.
On its official website, WhaleBrewing lists Pale Ale, IPA, and Weizen in its lineup. Each beer is tied to a Yobuko scene: the morning market, the blue sky and breeze, and the sunset over Yobuko Bridge. That sense of place is a defining part of the brewery's identity.
This appearance in Karatsu's shopping district brings that Yobuko character into a local market setting, offering beer fans a chance to encounter WhaleBrewing beyond the brewery itself.
