Osaka’s umbrella introduces five draft beers, opening at 6 p.m. on April 27
The beer pub umbrella in Sonezaki, Kita Ward, Osaka, will open at 6 p.m. on Monday, April 27. Five beers will be on draft: an IPA from Kakegawa Farm Brewing, a sour from Nara Brewing, Minoh Beer, draft Guinness, and Kirin Lager, along with a Guinness-linked campaign.
The beer pub "umbrella," located underground in Higashi-Umeda, Osaka, has announced that it will open at 6 p.m. on Monday, April 27. The shop is a one-minute walk from Higashi-Umeda Station and also within walking distance of Umeda and Osaka stations. It is a calm, hideaway-style spot with a counter that gives off the warmth of wood.
This day’s post also introduced today’s draft beers alongside the opening announcement. The lineup consists of five clearly distinct styles.
Today's Draft Beer
- Dank Hop IPA / Kakegawa Farm Brewing (Shizuoka)
- Study in Rouge / Nara Brewing (Nara)
- Saruyama Shikao / Minoh Beer (Osaka)
- Draft Guinness / Guinness
- Kirin Lager / Kirin Beer
It’s a wide-ranging lineup, spanning IPA, fruit sour, Japanese rice brut, stout, and lager. If you want to enjoy hop character, the Dank Hop IPA is the one to try; if you’re after acidity and sweet nuances, Study in Rouge stands out; and if you want local Osaka character, Saruyama Shikao looks appealing. With staples like Draft Guinness and Kirin Lager also on tap, it’s easy to build a progression from the first glass to the last.
The post also mentioned the start of a campaign where you can win Guinness original Premier League merchandise. In addition, beer vouchers usable for six servings at the smallest size are on sale, and the venue notes that Guinness pints are also available in the underground shop.
If you’re looking for a quiet underground spot in the Umeda area to enjoy beer, this day’s umbrella, with its visible tap lineup, is one to check out.
