Kanpai Brewing’s brewpub, located in Sekiguchi, Bunkyo, Tokyo, has announced the new tapping of Maboroshi-zaka Hazy IPA at its 1F venue, Granzoo.

The beer is a 6.5% ABV Hazy IPA with 15 IBU and an SRM of 4. Its aroma leans tropical, evoking grapefruit and white grape, with a moderate grassy character adding freshness.

Low carbonation and oats contribute to a soft, smooth mouthfeel. On the palate, citrus notes reminiscent of grapefruit are joined by vivid lychee and mango impressions. Despite its rounded body, the beer retains a noticeable bitterness, giving it a balanced profile.

No sugars have been added, resulting in a crisp, refreshing finish. The combination of fruit-forward hop character, moderate bitterness, and a drinkable finish should make it suitable both for careful tasting and for pairing with food.

Kanpai Brewing operates as a brewpub in the Waseda and Edogawabashi area, close to the Kanda River and Chinzan-so. At Granzoo, visitors can enjoy beer brewed by the venue while experiencing the casual atmosphere of a neighborhood craft-beer destination. Maboroshi-zaka Hazy IPA offers a particularly good choice for drinkers looking for a juicy yet balanced hazy beer.
