On July 10, Nagano Brewery announced a new limited beer on Instagram. The beer is made with Cabernet Sauvignon harvested in the fields of Sakaki Grape Winery, and the brewery says it has the deep, vivid color you would expect from a red-wine grape.

The post also notes that the beer is being served with a slightly more stylish glassware presentation, adding a visual touch to the release. The key detail for beer drinkers, though, is scarcity: it is being offered as one keg only and will end once it runs out.

Nagano Brewery is located in Ojoji, Nagano City, and operates as an integrated farm-and-brewery project. It uses hops and fruit grown on its own farm, while spent grain from brewing is returned to the fields as fertilizer. The brewery has also emphasized terroir-driven brewing from its hillside location west of Zenkoji Temple.

This release fits that approach well. By connecting a local brewery with grape fields in the region, the beer highlights how craft beer in Nagano continues to overlap with agriculture, fruit growing, and place-based production. For drinkers, it is another example of how a brewery can turn local harvests into a seasonal, limited-time beer with a distinct sense of place.
