Koganeyu Partly Changes Its May Medicinal Bath Schedule, Announces New Beer “Jikkou Beer”
Koganeyu released a revised version of its medicinal bath schedule for May 2026, changing the medicinal baths on the 17th, 19th, 22nd, and 29th to “jikkou.” It also announced a new beer, “Jikkou Beer,” framing it as a link between the medicinal bath and a post-bath drink.
On May 16, Koganeyu (Sumida Ward, Tokyo) posted a revised version of its “May Medicinal Bath Schedule” on Instagram. In this update, the medicinal baths on May 17, 19, 22, and 29 were changed to “jikkou.”
The post also introduced a new beer, “Jikkou Beer.” Jikkou Beer is a saison inspired by “jikkou,” a representative medicinal herb used in bathhouse medicinal baths, and it uses star anise, cinnamon, coriander, and clove. It can be described as a beer that carries the theme of the medicinal bath directly into its aroma and flavor.
Koganeyu is a renovated sento within walking distance of the north exit of Kinshicho Station, and its appeal is that you can spend time there not only in the baths and sauna, but also at the bandai bar and the Kogane Kitchen on the second floor. The setup, where you can enjoy a craft beer on the first floor after bathing and then walk a little to continue on to food or another drink, is also very convenient for beer lovers. This revised version creates a reason to visit by letting guests check the medicinal bath schedule and enjoy it together with Jikkou Beer.
