Hoppu Kotan’s “Iho” at TOWA

TOWA, a beer pub located just one minute from Ueno Station, is currently serving “Iho” from Hoppu Kotan Brewing.

“Iho” is described as a Midwest IPA with a solid malt character and a powerful bitterness. Rather than relying only on bright hop intensity, the beer builds its profile around a firm malt foundation, making it a good choice for drinkers who enjoy a substantial, bitter IPA.

TOWA is a craft beer-focused pub in Ueno, Tokyo. The venue regularly selects around 15 craft beers from across Japan and also serves sake, shochu, and soba. Its convenient station-side location is complemented by a relaxed atmosphere, making it suitable for a quick drink, a meal, or a longer tasting session.

In its announcement, TOWA also noted that it is preparing autumn and winter snacks as well as nabeyaki udon. The malt depth and pronounced bitterness of “Iho” should complement warm dishes and savory snacks particularly well as the weather cools.

TOWA also offers a weekday happy hour. Guests heading through Ueno may want to start with “Iho,” explore another tap, and finish with the restaurant’s soba. Availability can change, so checking with the venue before visiting is recommended.
