“Curry and Beer Tasogare Lily” in Uchidabashi, Minami Ward, Nagoya, is a beer pub built around spice curry and craft beer. In an Instagram post on May 23, it announced a “12:00 opening” and made clear that light drinking from lunchtime onward is welcome.

Today's Curries

- Mango Pork
- Dal
- Rebellious Butter Chicken

Three curries were on offer, creating a lineup that spans fruity sweetness, the savory richness of beans, and the depth of butter chicken. It is very much Tasogare Lily-like in how it keeps the outline of the spices intact while still feeling balanced enough to pair easily with beer from lunchtime onward.

TAP LIST

- Double Kimchi / West Coast Brewing × White Crow Brewing
West Coast Double IPA, 8.5% ABV. Uses Citra CRYO, El Dorado, and Motueka.
- The Technician / West Coast Brewing
Funky Kettle Sour, 5.5% ABV.
- No Ketchup / West Coast Brewing × Hop Butcher For The World
Hazy Double IPA, 7.5% ABV. A cross-collaboration with Hop Butcher For The World of Chicago, USA.

With three taps including two WCB collaborations, the lineup lets drinkers move between the heft of IPA and the briskness of sour beer. Paired with the curries' spices, it is easy to imagine a flow where the first drink is all about aroma and the second layers in more umami.

The post also noted that the shop will be closed on Sunday, May 31 due to its booth at SOCIAL TOWER MARKET, and that it is planning to start a Washoku gathering on Friday, June 19. Tasogare Lily is building presence as a shop that moves between everyday service and event-driven programming in the local atmosphere of the shopping street.

The appeal of this place is that you can enjoy curry and craft beer together in Uchidabashi Shopping Street. On days when it is open from lunchtime, it feels right to start with a tap beer and follow it with curry.
