Saien Micro Brewery adds Vienna Lager and Summer Weizen to the tap list
Saien Micro Brewery with Kitchen in Morioka announced two new taps on its Instagram account on July 21: Vienna Lager and Summer Weizen. The brewpub, operated with Baeren Brewery, said the beers were available again that night.
Saien Micro Brewery with Kitchen is a Baeren-produced brewpub in the Saien district of Morioka, Iwate. The venue was created by renovating the former Cucina restaurant and now combines an in-house brewery with a kitchen-focused dining space.
In an Instagram post dated July 21, the brewery introduced two new additions to its Saien craft beer lineup: Vienna Lager and Summer Weizen. The post noted that the beers had already been mentioned the day before and were still being served that evening, indicating a recent tap change.
The brewery positions itself as a place where Baeren can go beyond its standard lineup and test more adventurous beers. It is also known as the first microbrewery in central Morioka, which makes it a notable stop for people who want to drink beer directly at the source.
Summer Weizen had previously been described by the brewery as a light wheat beer suited to summer. Paired with Vienna Lager, the lineup offers a clear contrast in character: a malt-forward lager on one side and a softer wheat beer on the other.
That combination fits Saien Micro Brewery's concept well. It is a place designed for both beer and food, and the tap rotation gives regular visitors a reason to check what is pouring now rather than only relying on Baeren's core range.
