A food-and-beer lineup for July 15

Novel Craft, a beer pub on the second floor of the Kazama Building in Minamikarasuyama, Setagaya, opened at 5:00 p.m. with a house-made zucchini-and-egg sandwich. The sandwich was described as a small, snack-friendly portion, with egg seasoned with a touch of mustard, making it suitable both as a meal and as beer food.

The standout By The Glass pour was La Brasserie de Blaugies / La Vermontoise. According to the post, it is a saison built on the brewery's house recipe, brewed with spelt and dry-hopped with Amarillo, giving it citrus brightness and a spicy edge. Also featured was Boerenerf / Oude Gueuze 1871, an oak-aged blend of lambics with layered fruit character and barrel aroma.

For the weekday-only Novel's Choice set, the bar paired Cave D'occi × Novel Craft / Reflection with a three-item food plate: herb confit beef tongue, potato salad with seared bacon and dill, and chikuwa mixed with cream cheese and aonori. The tap list also included the brewery's own beers, Novel Craft Brewing / Sweep, Dubwise, and Down Tempo, alongside Kemkur / Coolship Pils, Belwoods / Come What May Dry-Hopped, Georgetown / Lucille IPA, and Yorocco Beer / All You Need is Flowers.

The result was a concise but well-rounded beer pub offering: fresh house food, a special bottle, a thoughtful glass-pour selection, and a tap list that moved comfortably between house beers and guest imports.
