A Third-Anniversary IPA from OHLOY STORE
OHLOY STORE, a brewpub located in Takamatsu’s Uchimachi district, has released “No Rush,” a new IPA from OHLOY Brewing. The beer was created to celebrate the third anniversary of the brewery’s taproom and direct-operated shop. Because of the timing of the brewery’s launch, the anniversary beer arrived after the actual milestone.
“No Rush” is an IPA with an ABV of 6.0%. Kagawa-grown wheat is used in the recipe, while Galaxy and Citra hops are added in the whirlpool. CRYO Citra is used for dry hopping, and the beer is finished with Krush hop oil, a first-time trial for the brewery.
The result is described as a juicy, aromatic IPA packed with hop character. It is not intended to be as hazy or heavy as a Hazy IPA, instead aiming for a balanced expression with a bright, uplifting aroma and flavor.
The brew was made with Ryan and Jeremy’s American friends, former colleagues from the Setouchi Brewing days, while listening to music and enjoying the process. Ryan suggested the name “No Rush,” reflecting the idea that it is fine to arrive late and move forward without rushing.
The label features a colorful illustration by Kaede Nishihara, who also designed the shop’s anniversary T-shirt. At OHLOY STORE, beer fans can enjoy this commemorative IPA in a relaxed brewpub setting in central Takamatsu. The anniversary T-shirts are also still available.
