BEER BAR Bitter on May 14

The beer pub "BEER BAR Bitter" in Tsukudo-cho, Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo will be open from 4 p.m. on Thursday, May 14. In an Instagram post, the day's tap list and food are introduced together, creating a lineup where you can enjoy beer and food in combination.

Today's taps

- Vedett Extra White (White・BEL) / Duvel Moortgat Brewery
- Kiln Ash (West Coast・JPN/Gifu) / Kamado Brewery
- Svijany Máz (Pilsner・CZE) / Svijany Brewery
- Rush Life (Hazy IPA・ESP) / Basqueland Brewing
- Outdoor Sea (West Coast IPA・USA) / Talea Beer Co.

The post notes that the last one, "Outdoor Sea," is down to the last few, so it's probably best to check it out soon. The lineup ranges from white beer to pilsner, hazy IPA, and West Coast IPA, offering a wide spread in flavor. Starting with the lightness of Belgian white beer, it lets you compare the character of breweries and origins from Kamado Brewery in Gifu, Basqueland Brewing in Spain, and Talea Beer Co. in New York.

Food is abundant too

For food, the pub is offering pork sauté with petit pois à la française, cucumber stir-fried Chinese-style with cumin, peach pineapple with prosciutto, fresh ginger with chirimen jako, sakura shrimp simmered in sansho, pork pie, cottage pie, fritters, and more. The dishes line up as calm snacks and meals that go well with the beer's flavors.
