Sakazuki Brewing Announces Wa no Bakushu Festival, Joins Sake Yeast Beer Project
Sakazuki Brewing (Adachi, Tokyo) has announced the launch of the circuit event "Wa no Bakushu Festival," which will roll out across Japan in spring 2026. Special craft beers themed around sake yeast can be sampled side by side at the taprooms of participating breweries.
The brewpub Sakazuki Brewing in Adachi, Tokyo, has announced the upcoming "Wa no Bakushu Festival." Sakazuki Brewing is a brewery-adjacent pub that opened in Kitasenju in 2016 and relocated to its current location in 2020. It is known as a place where guests can enjoy craft beer brewed on-site along with dishes designed to pair with beer.
The newly announced "Wa no Bakushu Festival" is a circuit event themed around sake yeast. According to Choryo Sake Brewery, it will be held in stages from March to April 2026 at the directly operated stores of participating breweries and other venues at roughly 10 locations nationwide. On the day of the event, sake-yeast beers brewed specifically for this project will be served in each region, along with beer comparisons and opportunities to interact with brewers.
What sets Wa no Bakushu Festival apart is that it is not simply a simultaneous rollout, but a format in which participants visit different breweries and taste along the way. Sake yeast differs in character from ordinary beer yeast, and that means special care is needed in brewing and recipe design. With that background in mind, Sakazuki Brewing's participation may also serve as a chance to discover the unique character of its brewing.
As a brewpub rooted in the local community of Adachi Ward, the venue will now show what kind of beer it can present within a nationwide project. As one follows the spring craft beer scene, this is one development worth watching.
