A Session IPA that reflects spring, made with Ashikita ingredients
Brewing Hyaku introduced the spring edition of "Hyakka Ryouran Springy~ (hyakkaryouran spring 2026)" in an Instagram post. The price is 880 yen, the style is Session IPA, and the ABV is 4.5%. Its adjunct ingredients are wakoucha from Ashikita and hachika honey from Ashikita.
According to the post's description, the honey is a multifloral honey collected by bees from Yoshikawa Honey Farm. The wakoucha is an indigenous cultivar from "Ocha no Kajihara," made from tea leaves grown for three generations under pesticide-free, organic cultivation, it says. The 2026 version is designed so the tea aroma can be felt more delicately, with a clean finish that lingers lightly, emphasizing a springlike sense of ease.
About the brewery
Brewing Hyaku is a Kumamoto-based brewery that, on its official website, presents its location in Ashikita Town and continues to develop in ways that highlight connections with local ingredients and producers. This beer, too, goes beyond the frame of a simple seasonal release and can be seen as a craft beer reinterpretation of Ashikita's beekeeping and tea-making.
It is a finish that will appeal not only to IPA fans seeking a vibrant aroma, but also to those who prefer easy-drinking beers with a lower alcohol content. As its name suggests, it is a new release that lets you enjoy the "signs of spring" in a glass.
