Shimanto Brewing to Hold the Second Popular Beer Run Event on May 17
Shimanto Brewing in Shimanto City, Kochi Prefecture, announced the second edition of its well-received beer run event. Participants will meet on Sunday, May 17, run two courses of 13 km and 5 km, then toast with beer; non-alcoholic drinks will also be available.
Kochi Prefecture's Shimanto Brewing announced on Instagram that it will hold the second beer run event. The company is proceeding with the event after the first one was well received and drew many inquiries, presenting it as a plan that combines running and craft beer.
The event is scheduled for Sunday, May 17. The schedule is to meet at 10:00 at SHIMANTO Brewing, do warm-up exercises at 10:10, start running at 10:15, and have the post-run gathering around 12:00. After the run, participants can toast with beer, and there is also said to be a public bath called Nakamura Onsen about a 10-minute walk away.
There are two course options: 13 km and 5 km. Both are planned as comfortable runs at a conversational pace of 7 to 8 minutes per km. For what to bring, participants may decide on changing clothes themselves, but those who need them are asked to bring a towel and a change of clothes. Bags other than valuables will be held.
Applications are accepted by DM. Beer after the run is 500 yen per glass, no matter how many you drink, and non-alcoholic drinks will also be available. The event welcomes everyone from those looking for a reason to start running to those who want to run seriously, offering both the casual feel of a local brewery and the chance to enjoy a drink after the run.
