New Draft "Indian Red Oni"
A new draft beer announcement has arrived from Beach culture brewing in Oarai Town, Ibaraki Prefecture. Brewer TOMO introduced "Indian Red Oni." It is an IPA with ABV 6% / IBU 54.1, delivering a firm bitter edge.
This beer is a playful, parody-like creation inspired by a well-known major beer brand. Even so, the contents are serious: while emphasizing a balanced bitterness, it has been crafted to aim for a velvety mouthfeel and a clean finish. It looks like a beer to enjoy as an old-style IPA, slightly removed from today's mainstream styles.
It is available on draft only. In other words, the best way to enjoy it is poured into a glass on-site. Beach culture brewing is a brewpub on the first floor of Oarai Seaside Station. Its open, port-town setting makes it easy to stop by alongside a seaside stroll, which is part of its appeal.
For fans of strongly bitter IPAs, and for anyone who wants to enjoy the background behind the label and name, this is one to watch. If you want to try a new release with a slightly classic bitterness in Oarai, it's worth checking out.
