Open Air Minatoyama Brewery Releases 'dusk', a New Beer That Looks Dark but Drinks Light
Open Air Minatoyama Brewery has begun selling its new beer 'dusk' in kegs and cans. Though it looks black, it is defined by a light roast character and a crisp finish, crafted as a Schwarzbier with ABV 5.5% and IBU 25.
Open Air Minatoyama Brewery's new release, 'dusk,' is a beer that balances a dark appearance with a light, easy-drinking feel. On the brewery's official Instagram, it is introduced as "black in appearance, yet with a light roast character and a clean finish", and is positioned as an ideal first beer for the season heading into summer, or one to accompany dinnertime.
The style is Schwarzbier, ABV 5.5%, IBU 25. It uses Aurum hops, layering in the aroma of roasted malt while avoiding any lean toward heaviness. The caption also evoked an image of contours emerging in the dim light, and noted pairings with sausages, roast chicken, and grilled vegetables.
Open Air Minatoyama Brewery was born inside NATURE STUDIO in Kobe's Hyogo Ward, using the former Minatoyama Elementary School cafeteria kitchen. With a mission to make beers that let people enjoy the changing seasons, the brewery develops not only standard styles like IPA but also new styles that bring out seasonal hops and herbs. Born in that environment, 'dusk' can be seen as a new release that naturally reflects the brewery's seasonal sensibility and drinkability.
Sales have started through the official online shop and the trade shop, with kegs and cans now available. This is a beer to choose when you want to take your time and enjoy a calm-toned beer alongside a meal.
