Tasogare Lily Starts Serving Ayu Confit, Highlights Three Kegs Including West Coast Brewing
The curry-and-beer pub Curry and Beer Tasogare Lily in Minami Ward, Nagoya, announced on Instagram that it has started serving ayu confit. The tap list features three beers tied to West Coast Brewing, fitting the shop's curry-and-craft-beer focus.
At the beer pub Curry and Beer Tasogare Lily in Uchidabashi, Minami Ward, Nagoya, an Instagram post announced that it has started serving ayu confit. The post says it is 'mostly wild ayu' this year, putting seasonal fish dishes front and center.
Food
Today's curries are three kinds: `Nibo Pork`, `Keema Matar`, and `Coconut Aloo Chicken`. Along with the spicy curries, the ayu confit is on the menu, which is very Tasogare Lily-like in that you can move back and forth between seafood and curry. As a casual beer pub, it's also easy to try one drink at a time with the meal.
Tap List
There are three craft beers on tap: `Double Kimchi` from `West Coast Brewing × White Crow Brewing` (West Coast Double IPA / 8.5% ABV), `The Technician` from `West Coast Brewing` (Funky Kettle Sour / 5.5% ABV), and `No Ketchup` from `West Coast Brewing × Hop Butcher For The World` (Hazy Double IPA / 7.5% ABV). The lineup clearly spans the punch of IPA, the crisp acidity of sour beer, and the hop depth of hazy beer.
Store Notes
The post also says that on Sunday, May 31, the shop will be closed because it will have a booth at SOCIAL TOWER MARKET, and that on Saturday the 30th it will be open for lunch only and start setting up for the event at night. It also previews a Japanese food gathering on Friday, June 19, showing how the shop is expanding beyond its usual curry and beer into seafood and even sake. With no cover charge and the ability to drink straight from the tap, it's an easy place to use whether you're going for the food or for the beer.
