A seasonal beer with a music-driven concept

CRAFTROCK TAPROOM, a brewpub in Takao, Tokyo, has highlighted its seasonal beer Tropical Splash. Located near Takaosanguchi Station, the taproom is an easy stop before or after a hike, and its warm, wood-accented interior makes it a comfortable place to slow down over a fresh pint.

Tropical Splash takes inspiration from Jimmy Eat World’s "Turn Twist" and leans into a margarita-like idea. The beer is described as tropical and fruit-forward, with pineapple and lime up front, a mineral salt finish, and a hidden habanero note that keeps the beer from finishing too neatly.

The post also points to a food pairing: the taproom’s limited chili cheese fries. That makes sense for a beer with both fruit and spice, since the richness of the fries should match the beer’s bright citrus profile while the heat echoes its subtle peppery edge.

CRAFTROCK TAPROOM is part of CRAFTROCK BREWING, a Tokyo brewery that builds beers around music and mood. Tropical Splash fits that approach well: a clearly themed beer with a specific flavor arc, designed for drinking at the taproom or taking home in a can.
