On March 29, Grau Craft beer bar in Fujimino, Saitama, posted its tap list. Ahead of its 5th anniversary on Friday, April 3, the lineup features five taps centered on NARA's German pilsner 'DAYLONG,' including some casks with only a little left.
The beer pub "Grau Craft beer bar" in Naema, Fujimino City, Saitama Prefecture, introduced its tap list for the day in an Instagram post on March 29. With its 5th anniversary coming up on Friday, April 3, the post also called for help in "draining every tap." The bar stayed open until 10 p.m. that day, serving on a five-tap lineup.
At the center was `NARA : DAYLONG`. According to the brewer's notes, it is a German pilsner made entirely with German malt, hops, and yeast, with floral aromas, the sweetness and toastiness of malt, and a gentle bitterness unfolding in sequence. At 5.0% ABV, it is a light, easygoing beer designed to pair well with food. It is the kind of pint you can casually enjoy, and a beer that shows where the bar is right now.
The other beers on tap were the nearly sold-out `VERTERE : Passiflora` (Hazy IPA), `MATSUMOTO : Traditional Bitter`, the fresh cask `CAMADO : Super SMaSH IPA SIMCOE`, and the nearly sold-out `CAMADO : 金華の頂` (Strong Ale). From hazy and bitter to SMaSH IPA and strong ale, the lineup offered something easy to choose from depending on the drinker's preference.
As a neighborhood beer pub, Grau Craft beer bar's appeal lies in how casually it lets you follow the movement of the casks. The tap list reflected the atmosphere of the bar as it headed toward the eve of its anniversary, while also touching on thanks for a collaboration udon. It makes you want to pair it with french fries and work your way through the beers, starting with the crisp pilsner.
