Belgian Tripel tapped today

Saien Microbrewery with Kitchen in Morioka, Iwate Prefecture, has begun serving its "Belgian Tripel". In an Instagram post, the brewery announced that it was being tapped today and that it would be available in a limited 30L batch.

This beer is a traditional style that originated in Belgium. According to the post, it is characterized by a fruity, spicy aroma and a substantial drinking experience. This batch was previously offered once in February, but because the flavor was still a little tight when it was freshly made, it was left to rest for a while.

After about a month of maturation, this release is said to have a smoother, deeper finish. It is being presented as a beer that shows more character the more slowly you drink it, not just one with a flashy profile, and since the quantity is limited, it seems wise to check it out early if you're interested.

Saien Microbrewery with Kitchen is a pub brewery in central Morioka produced by Baeren Brewery. On its official website, it is introduced as the first microbrewery in the downtown Morioka area, and its name carries the idea of being a place where people can casually enjoy a meal, while also inheriting the atmosphere of its predecessor, Cucina. It is popular among local craft beer fans as a place where beer and food can be enjoyed together.

This Belgian Tripel is a beer that reflects the character of the venue very well. Built on a traditional Belgian style, yet carefully adjusted through maturation for drinkability and depth, it shows the kind of thoughtful craftsmanship you would expect from a pub brewery. It is a beer worth considering when you want to sit down and enjoy a drink slowly in Morioka.
