At Sakazuki Brewing, a brewpub in Kitasenju, Adachi Ward, Tokyo, "Wano Beer Festival 2026" started at the taproom on April 23. True to the shop’s style of serving beer brewed on site, the taps that day featured a wide range of styles, with a focus on labels made using sake yeast.

The day’s lineup included 18 beers. Alongside the brewery’s own "Hatsukaze," the taps featured "shy girl" Bohemian Pilsner, "shy daddy" American Lager, "Origins Golden Ale," "Kuchizuke" SMaSH American Pale Ale, and "Megurogawa Sakura Ale," among others. There was also a note that the current batch of "shy girl" was close to selling out, while the next brew was still aging, making this a lineup worth catching while it lasts.

Wano Beer Festival 2026 is a nationwide circuit-style collaboration project hosted by Choryo Sake Brewery in Nara, through which breweries around the country connect beers themed around "sake yeast x craft beer." On this day at Sakazuki Brewing, the following four beers were featured:

- Repubrew "Kyokai Yeast No. 901 Fermentation"
- Derailleur Brew Works "ANONYMOUS BREWHOLIC Re:VOLUTION #003"
- CRAFT BEER BASE "Sorachi Kin'yuki ~Sake Yeast BMK3 ver.~"
- Matsue Beer HeLLN "Orochi 2025 Rihachi ver."

A special offer was also set up: when ordering a four-beer tasting set, guests received one flight-size pour of Sakazuki Brewing’s "Hatsukaze" for free. The lineup lets drinkers compare the aroma and mouthfeel brought by sake yeast interpretations from breweries across Japan, making it an event that reflects the face of the brewer, just as you’d expect from a Kitasenju brewpub.
