Ise Kadoya Brewery Teases New Release “Mr.DANK” - Limited IPA with a Deeper Hop Character
ISEKADO announced in an Instagram post on May 18 that it will launch its new release, “Mr.DANK,” starting this week. B2B sales are set to begin on Tuesday, with e-commerce sales starting on Wednesday, drawing attention as a limited IPA that puts hop aroma front and center.
Ise Kadoya Brewery (ISEKADO) is a craft brewery based in Ise City, Mie Prefecture. Backed by a long fermentation tradition, it produces beers with clearly defined brewing intent even in its limited releases. In its Instagram post on May 18, the brewery announced the new “Mr.DANK” as a debut starting this week, and said B2B sales would begin on Tuesday, followed by e-commerce sales on Wednesday.
According to product information posted on the brand’s online shop, “Mr.DANK” is a limited beer sold in 330 ml bottles for 704 yen including tax. The style is American-style India Pale Ale, with 7.0% alcohol by volume and 60 IBU. The tasting notes describe a light gold, clear appearance, an intense aroma hop character, and a balance between bitterness and sweetness.
A key point in the brewing process is the direct addition of “Incognito,” a hop-derived extract that captures hop aroma and bittering compounds, into the fermentation tank. In addition, the dry-hopping rate was increased beyond the usual amount, with the aim of creating a bold, memorable hop flavor like beers described overseas as “Dank.” Brewer Kaisho Seta also explained that the beer uses large amounts of Mosaic and Strata to target a flavor profile close to trendy beers from abroad.
ISEKADO is a brewery that builds character not only through numerical specs, but also through its brewing methods and hop usage. “Mr.DANK” is another beer that reflects that approach, and it is likely to catch the attention of beer lovers who want to fully enjoy hop aroma.
