Guest beer arrival

Apero and co, a beer pub in Ichibancho, Aoba Ward, Sendai, has introduced a guest beer from Minami-Aizu Mountain Brewing: pfiou. In the shop’s post, it is described as "a bit of a hassle, but a tasty one."

What pfiou is like

pfiou is a Belgian Hoppy Ale with an ABV of 4.5%. The beer is presented as having pleasant grapefruit-like bitterness and aroma, a light and dry finish, and fine bubbles produced through in-container secondary fermentation. It is the kind of beer whose appearance is part of the appeal.

Service note

Apero and co says this beer needs a little extra time to serve because it is a lively one, so ordering early is recommended. The name is tied to a French-sounding "phew"-like idea, making it feel like a beer meant for a moment to take a breath after work. It stands out as a carefully poured guest beer with a distinct Minami-Aizu character.
